Rethinking Education

An interesting analysis that highlights a new way of thinking about how we educate kids. Some of the ideas presented are at the heart of many practices we are adopting in the Birmingham School District. Some ideas are radical compared to how we operate today. Of particular interest is a point which begins at 7:40 of the video about Divergent Thinking; if you watch anything please watch that segment. You may miss the additional percentages cited in the data so here they are: 32%, 10% (it will make sense once you watch - source here.) It would take remarkable systemic courage to move in the direction of Sir Ken Robinson's vision, but his thought provoking talk is a worthy conversation starter.
